MVP Consulting is a boutique consulting firm based out of Toronto which specializes on working with Small Business owners. Over the past 8 years, we’ve helped numerous clients get a better hold on their business through strategic management and finance consulting. We have worked in the consumer automotive and retail toy industries, fashion e-commerce, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations, effectively partnering with Small-Medium Business (SMB) owners to assess opportunities, facilitate strategic decisions, and drive successful implementations.
Our key focus has always been enabling Small Business owners’ understanding of their business, helping them think about how they make decisions and when to execute new plans. As full-cycle bookkeepers, we manage all of our clients’ daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly tasks.
Accounting Analyst
Managing a portfolio of 1-2 clients, the Accounting Analyst provides full cycle bookkeeping for our clients, in support of our fractional CFOs. Accounting Analysts play a direct role in client success and are customer facing.
About the Opportunity
This is a part-time (~12 hours/week) contract position, ideal for someone comfortable with working remotely on a regular schedule. There is opportunity for this role to expand into full-time in the future.
Pay: $50/hour.
Key Responsibilities
- manage a virtual client portfolio
- perform full cycle bookkeeping in a timely manner
- preparation and administration of payroll
- prepare and/or review period end financial statements
- frequent communication with team, responding to questions, concerns, and requests
- calculate and finalize of government remittances such as GST/HST (+PST), payroll deductions
- maintaining QuickBooks online data integrity
- weekly team meetings
- preparation of year-end working paper packages for accountants
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- post-secondary degree/diploma in accounting or related field preferred
- minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a similar bookkeeping role, i.e. producing financial statements
- previous experience at a bookkeeping and/or public accounting firms
- previous experience managing staff or a team considered an asset
- Quickbooks Online Certification
- previous experience administering payroll and filing of government remittances
- high level of proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Word
